Shimano 7 speed and the different between Freewheel vs Cassette

Shimano 7 Speed
First off I ordered this Shimano 7 speed freewheel after I discovered a faulty freewheel on my new schwinn solution which I ordered here on amazon. I quickly learned that it was indeed a freewheel I needed not a cassette.

SRAM PG990, the hottest cassette

SRAM PG990
This SRAM cassette does everything you want - it shifts great, is light weight, lasts a long time and looks great. I have over 1000 miles on it and it looks like new and always shifts very quick. I definitely recommend this item.

I can say I get much longer use out of the high end Sram cassette then

Winning the hills by SRAM PG-1050 10-Speed Cassette

SRAM 10 speed cassettes
I upgraded from a SRAM 11-24 to this 11-28. The swap was easy and fast - and made a big difference in my ability to climb the foothills around Denver. Getting up hills by Shimano Megarange Freewheel

Shimano freewheel

The only problem was that my derailleur was not long enough and would rub on the megasprocket while I was on the second sprocket. While I rode about 600 miles in this state, I ended up ordering a long travel derailleur ($40), but I still feel this was
